Material Handling

Used forklifts and telehandlers should be researched around the actual load, lift requirement, working environment, and operator arrangements. Nominal capacity alone does not tell you whether a machine is suitable for a particular job.

Define the Application First

1. Document the load dimensions, required lift height or reach, and working space.

2. Check the correct capacity plate or load chart and the effect of any attachments.

3. Consider the floor or ground surface, indoor or outdoor use, and power-source requirements.

4. Request maintenance records and documentation relevant to the machine and its location.

5. Arrange an assessment by someone qualified for the equipment and intended use.

A general website cannot authorize a lift, certify a machine, or establish operator competence. Use the manufacturer’s documentation and the applicable workplace requirements.
